Masters in Crises and Humanitarian Management

Introduction

The Master’s Degree in Crises and Humanitarian Management is designed to prepare professionals for impactful careers in crisis response, disaster management, and humanitarian aid. This program provides students with essential knowledge and skills to manage and mitigate the effects of natural disasters, conflicts, and other humanitarian crises, equipping them to respond effectively and ethically in high-stakes environments.

The curriculum covers key areas such as disaster risk reduction, humanitarian logistics, public health in emergencies, and conflict resolution, integrating theory with practical applications through case studies, simulations, and field experiences. Students learn to design and implement strategic responses, coordinate with international aid organizations, and develop sustainable practices that support resilience and recovery in affected communities.

Graduates of this program are prepared to assume leadership roles in NGOs, international organizations, government agencies, and emergency management sectors, where they can make a meaningful difference in crisis-affected regions. This program fosters adaptable and compassionate leaders dedicated to advancing global humanitarian efforts.

Admission Requirements 

  1. Candidates must have at least five credits in WAEC, NECO or GCE Ordinary Level which should include English Language and Mathematics.
  2. A minimum of Bachelor Degree in a relevant area from University of Abuja or any other recognized University, or HND with a Minimum of Merit Grade and NYSC completion or exemption certificate.
  3. d) Candidates with sufficient professional experience and training in relevant fields but without some of the requirements above are encouraged to apply.

 Duration and Delivery Mode

The Masters in Strategic Security and Protection Management course shall consist of both contacts and online (Hybrid) delivery for a minimum three semesters or maximum of four semesters.

 Students in Take: Every April and November

Fee Structure: N42O, 000 Per Session. Opportunity for installmental payment is available. Initial payment of 50% and the balance at two equal instalments
